Enabling the missing ‘Clear Field’ action in QlikView 9 SR3

by Brian on Aug.19, 2010, under QlikView, Tech

Today I was looking for a trigger to clear a specific field based on selecting a value in another field. There was a Trigger for Clear All and Clear Other, but nothing for Clear Field??? You got to be kidding! Fortunately I stumbled accross this post on QlikCommunity. To simplify this follow these instructions…

  1. Go to the Easter Egg Page in QlikView by clicking the Help Menu selecting “Avout QlikView.”
  2. Right-click on the Q-eyeball in the bottom left of the screen to bring up the list of Registry settings.
  3. Locate the “ExtendedActionsSR3” setting and set its value to 1.
  4. Click Set. Then OK button
  5. Now when you go into the Trigger actions you should see the “Clear Field” setting. If you don’t make sure that have atleast SR3 with the build number mentioned in the post below installed.

QlikCommunity | ‘Clear Field’ action missing, even though 7436/7440 release notes say it’s fixed..
